Diving Ireland now offers a short-term 30-day Full Diver membership at a reduced cost to facilitate guest divers’ participation in Diving Ireland events such as Dive Rallies. The Membership includes Diving Ireland Insurance cover, while ensuring Diving Ireland protocols and standards are complied with.

• The duration of the short-term membership is 30 days from the member registration date on JustGo
• The reduced cost of the 30-day membership is €50 (vs €130 for the annual membership)
• The short-term membership option is only available for Full Diver memberships
• Sports covered: Scuba diving.
• Diving Ireland Insurance: The short-term full diver membership includes insurance cover for:
  • Personal Injury Insurance (Group Injury Policy)
  • Liability Insurance (Combined Liability Policy)
  • Instructor Liability Insurance (Professional Indemnity Policy)

• Membership can be upgraded to “Full Diver” annual membership through payment of an additional €100, if upgraded within 30 days of expiry of short-term membership
• The short-term membership can only be availed of for one 30-day period in any one year. In other words, you cannot renew a 30-day membership until next year.

Requirements

• The Applicant must apply for membership of, and be accepted by, an affiliated Diving Ireland subaqua club. 
• The Applicant must comply fully with Diving Ireland Training & Standards. See DI 401 TRAINING AND STANDARDS MANUAL
• The Applicant must upload existing diving qualifications to their JustGo profile and have them ‘recognised’ by their Club DO before diving with Diving Ireland. Prospective short-term members must engage with their ‘accepting’ club with regard to any club registration or membership terms, conditions or costs which are separate from this Diving Ireland Short-Term membership.
• Short-Term Diving Ireland members are subject to the same criteria with regard to dive readiness and active diver status as full members. In particular, short-term members are required to: 
  • Complete a Medical Disclaimer, via JustGo
  • Complete or provide documentary evidence of completion of the prescribed Fitness Test to the satisfaction of the Club Diving Officer (DO)
  • Provide evidence of Active Diver Status by way of a current dive log to the satisfaction of the Club DO
  • Apply for a Recognition Credential for a relevant non-Diving Ireland certifications as recognised in DI 403 Diver Equivalency Application & Guide and have the same approved by the Club DO. Such recognition, fitness test and active diver status must be formally approved by Club DO on JustGo platform prior to any diving activity

• Short-Term members are required to abide by the Diving Ireland Codes of Conduct and comply fully with DI 401 Training & Standards, including all Rules & Recommendations.
• Short-Term members must hold a Diving Ireland recognised diving qualification as recognised under the Diving Ireland Equivalence and Recognition policy IUC 403.
• Short-Term members are not permitted to engage in any training, assessment or instructional activities. 
• Short-Term members may not dive as a ‘buddy’ with any DI grade below D**, i.e. no diving with D* or novice divers.
• Short-Term members must only dive within the parameters of their existing diving qualifications and subject to the primacy of DI Training & Standards DI 401 parameters.
• Conversion to full time membership at cost of €100 is contingent on the applicant complying with and completing the Diving Ireland equivalence protocols IUC 403 and being issued a Diving Ireland certification – the cost of such certification is €30.
• Short-Term members are subject to Diving Ireland Disciplinary Regulations IUC 304 for any breaches of the terms of membership.
