The Irish Sea: History, Culture, Environment symposium, organised by University College Dublin and the National Maritime Museum of Ireland, aims to address questions about the sea which Ireland shares with England, Scotland, Wales and the Isle of Man whilst at the same time exploring opportunities for interdisciplinary research.
The symposium is sponsored by the UCD Earth Institute, UCD Humanities Institute, and the Atlantic Archipelagos Research Consortium and is being hosted in the National Maritime Museum of Ireland, Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin http://www.mariner.ie .
The symposium opens with a free public lecture by Richard Nairn on the ‘Nature of the Irish Sea Coast’ in the Museum at 7 pm on Friday night 19 th September 2014 coinciding with Culture Night and continues on Saturday 20 th September 2014 (cost €10)
