Last year, Ireland‘s European Week of Sport was a great success with over 500 events organised throughout the country. The variety and scale of events organised in Ireland was very encouraging and this was recently recognised by the European Commission. Sport Ireland, as the National Coordinating Body for the European Week of Sport would like to grow the European Week of Sport into a national week of sport and physical activity for everyone.

The European Week of Sport will take place in Ireland between the 22^nd and 30^th September 2018. Sport Ireland has invited the Irish Underwater Council and our clubs to get involved again this year  and engage with the Week of Sport , registering and promoting events and perhaps organising a participation focused event during the week.

Last year our Try a Dive events were marked up as flagship events with the European Week of Sport and we hope to achieve this fantastic status again. This is also a great chance to promote any Try A Dive events our clubs are planning to hold between the 22nd and 30th September 2018.
