The Blueway has finally been launched. The initiative designed and created by Laura Taylor, CFT’s Sports Development Officer, is growing from strength to strength. The new initiative to complement the Wild Atlantic Way and to encourage people to discover Ireland’s amazing coastline, has been launched by Minister of State for Tourism and Sport Michael Ring TD.

The concept aims to engage people around Ireland and from abroad with the sea by developing trails for water activities and highlighting local activity providers. There are five Blueway locations in Co Mayo and Co Galway.“Blueways offer an entirely new perspective on Ireland’s magnificent wild Atlantic coastline,” said the Minister. Many thanks to Laura and Richard Thorn for all their hard work in bringing this concept to fruition and we look forward to welcoming a new generations of snorkelers into CFT.
