The Adventure continues….
So you’ve taken your first step into the underwater world. Now its time to hone your skills. The CFT Club Diver course is designed to ensure that you develop proficiency in the safe use of Scuba equipment for open water with a buddy (mandatory dive partner). This is the next step along from the Trainee course and allows you to put into practice everything you have learnt in the ‘training’ environment.
What you will learn
The Club Diver course consists of a series of lectures on the practicals such as equipment, safety, best practice and environment and will allow you to build an invaluable ‘log’ of dives in varying conditions, situations and locations all adding to your overall competence as a Scuba diver. As this is an experience-based course it will be followed by an exam on completion of your dive log. Once awarded this grade allows the diver to dive with buddies of the same grade or higher and to lead such dives to a maximum depth of 30 metres. Cost €50.00
In order for you to enroll in your local club’s next club diver course and begin training you will need to meet to following prerequisites:
- Be 17 years of age and have a current certificate(s) of fitness to dive.
- Hold a Trainee Diver (CMAS Diver*) certificate for a minimum period of three months
So how do I get started?
Enrolling in your local diving club’s next Club Diver training program is easy. If you meet the above prerequisites, your club’s Diving Officer will be happy to help you get started.
