What’s involved in a dive

Try a dive’ is where you can test the waters in a safe and helpful environment. Our organisation is run by divers for divers; with the long term interests of the individual development as our prime objective.

Our interest in those who learn to dive with us does not end at the presentation of an ‘Diving Certificate’. For us, this is where the adventure starts! With over 60 clubs in Ireland you will never be far from a Club that will suit you. Sign up with one of our clubs to try a dive!

What’s required for a dive

Whether it’s for the thrill and adventure or the serene experience of beauty and discovery, diving is open to everybody. All that is required is a normal degree of health and fitness and a desire to have fun, make new friends and discover a new world that is only a few short feet from your coast line. With the assistance of equipment such as scuba masks, breathing regulators, buoyancy devices, fins, and gauges, divers can explore the underwater world at their leisure.

Modern diving is very safe and easy to learn. Training is provided by a large number of qualified clubs based all over the country. Diving Ireland has more than 60 clubs affiliated to it and one is sure to be based near you.

Qualifications

Have you a qualification from another organisation?? Well if so you are very welcome! We recognise most international diving grades and offer equivalence to our own grades. What does this mean for you? Well it means that if you have a recognised qualification you will not have to go through all the training again, there will be a few lectures and possibly a little water work to be done but nothing too complicated.
